God's Battered Child by April Lorier
The purpose of God's Battered Child is to demonstrate verbal abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, spiritual abuse, sexual abuse and domestic violence through the generations; to show that Christians are not immune to violence.
The readers become familiar with the long term effects of battered child syndrome as they see them played out in the generations of the author's family: repetition, addiction, and spiritual confusion. Who is this God that would permit such a thing?
God's Battered Child takes the reader through biblical counseling, demonstrating the process of recovery in the stages of healing.
The author's goal is to educate, inspire and encourage because there is hope for survivors. The author wrote what she lived.
